6 to 8 Hours Load Shedding in Karachi

The flaw in the sale of KESC has surfaced as WAPDA has stopped supply

of power to the agreed level because of some dispute about payment of arrears.
And power is shut down for several hours daily in different areas. Valuable
foreign exchange is spent on importing power generators.

The questions are why people of Karachi are being made to suffer? Does not
any body realize that loss of productivity  would have  impact on the economy
of the whole nation as Karachi generates over 60% of Government Revenues.
Why can't WAPDA go to the court? Why can't the federal government
help settle their dispute?

A skeptic replied my questions by reciting an old Urdu peom
"Har Shakh par Ulloo bhaita hai
Anjam e Gulistan keya hog

This looks like a false propaganda against China! 'falsified' terror plots

China 'falsified' terror plots

An exiled leader of China's minority Uighur community has accused Chinese officials of fabricating "terror plots" against the Beijing Olympics so it can use them as an excuse to crack down on her community.
"It's completely untrue. All these allegations are falsified," Rebiya Kadeer, now living in the US, told the AFP news agency on Monday.
"It seems that the Chinese government has one goal, which is to create this scenario of terrorism, and produce a terrorist action itself so that it can blame the Uighur people," the head of the Uyghur American Association said.
On Sunday Chinese officials announced that they had foiled two alleged plots originating in the vast western region Xinjiang, home of the Muslim Uighur community, but they revealed very few details.
Wang Lequan, the Communist party chief in Xinjiang, said that a January raid on "terrorists" in which two suspects were killed and 15 arrested, had foiled a plan "specifically to sabotage the staging of the Beijing Olympics" in August.
Officials said the other alleged plot involved passengers attempting to crash a Chinese airliner flying from Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, to Beijing on Friday.
The aircraft was diverted to the city of Lanzhou in Gansu province, where "suspicious liquids" were removed, China's civil aviation authority said.
But Kadeer said, "If there were Uighur separatists on board, the Chinese authorities would have paraded them immediately and punished them severely."
"It is shameful of the Chinese government," she said. "The real goal of the Chinese government is to organise a terrorist attack so that it can increase its crackdown on the Uighur people."
In the 1990s Beijing launched a crackdown on what it said was violent separatist activities in Xinjiang after a series of riots, bombings and assassinations.
Few incidents have been reported in recent years
Commenting on the alleged plots, Wang said the conspirators had been trained by and were following the orders of a separatist group based in Pakistan and Afghanistan called the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM).
The United Nations and US government have both labelled the group a terrorist organisation, although little is known about its membership and capabilities.
'Open to question'
The government's failure to provide details and evidence has fuelled speculation among human right group that it was overstating the security threat to justify tough measures against opponents.
"When China has made allegations of terrorist activity, it doesn't back it up with evidence and restrictions make it impossible for independent investigators to verify," Mark Allison, a Hong Kong-based researcher for Amnesty International, told the Associated Press.
"Without evidence, their claims are open to question," he said.
Many experts say the threat of a terror attack on the Beijing Games is low and the International Olympic Committee has said it believes "the Chinese authorities are thorough and professional in their handling of security measures and precautions".
Chinese Olympic organisers themselves voiced confidence about security arrangements on Monday.
"An efficient Olympic security command system is in place," Sun Weide, a spokesman for the organising committee, said. "We're confident of holding a peaceful and safe Olympic Games."
Kadeer, 61, said she was seeking talks with the White House and the US state department about the alleged plots.
She was jailed in 1999 in China for leaking "state secrets" to a US congressional delegation visiting Xinjiang.
After much international pressure she was released in March 2005 and allowed into exile in the United States to join her husband, but two of her sons, aged 32 and 30, remain imprisoned in China.
Beijing has expressed anger about the Uighur leader's activities while in exile and was incensed when George Bush, the US president, met her in June on the margins of a conference of political dissidents in the Czech Republic.

Invitation to UQAAB , The Pakistan Think Tank Organization

PakistanThinkTank.org
UQAAB, Pakistan Think Tank

Asalam Alaykum !!!

This is an invitation to UQAAB, The Pakistan Think Tank Organization, which belongs to 160 million Pakistanis. It is a national dialogue amongst all viewpoints to understand the cross-currents and events impacting Pakistan.

It is also an invitation to you to be an UQAAB, the great Allama visualized in his poetry. Please be a key part of this organization.   We are in the U.S.  We are also very dependent on our brothers and sisters in Pakistan and U.S. and other nations to project our Sohni Dharti to a global audience. This site's name begins with Pakistan, so it belongs to every Pakistani including you.

Our Structure

We have no hierarchy, except an Advisory Board, I am just the Editor. In this way we avoid the political infighting for leadership, which plague all Pakistan Organizations.  So this is an organization based on equality of all members. PTT is a voluntary organization mainly based on efforts of professionals in the North America, Europe, Middle East, East Asia and Pakistan ranging from Political Scientists, Economists, Business Managers, CEOs, Scientist, Intellectuals, Physicians, Lawyers, Serving and Retired Armed Forces, Students, Academics, essentially, Pakistanis in all professions, both men and women make up the organization.

Our Outlook

We are non-partisan.  We support one party that is 160 Million people of Pakistan. We discuss all ideas, including constructive criticism of the Military Govt, PPP, all the leagues, all the Jamaat, etc. We are for Quaid's Pakistan. We have a one point Agenda, Make Pakistan Great through cross fertilization of its peoples ideas and promote Pakistan as a land, where lively debates occur and great intellects reside. This is a non-partisan, non-parochial, altruistic effort to get the thoughts and ideas of Pakistanis about the present, past, and future of Pakistan in every endeavor.

Our Mission

Our mission is to project Pakistan as a nation of dynamic and goal oriented people.    All Pakistanis have a stake in a democratically free Pakistan.  It is an ideal we are striving to achieve even after 60 years. We do not believe that our faith and democratic principles are in resonance. After, the death of our Prophet (PBUH), the succession of leadership was based on ELECTION, not SELECTION.   We promote critical thinking and expansion of intellectual horizons through debate and consensus. We have no desire to achieve income or glory from UQAAB, the Pakistan Think Tank Organization.    It adheres to the dictum of debate and decorum but not casting aspersions on Pakistan as a nation or its founders. We believe in Quaid's vision of Pakistan as a pluralistic nation for Muslims and Non-Muslims alike.

Pakistan 's Image

We combat the propaganda generated in the West by the Zionist and Indian media.    We build bridges by presenting writing of Pakistanis to the global intellectual community and thought leaders.  Our audience is global, but most hits we get are from North America, and Europe.

You Are the Key to UQAAB'S Success

Every Pakistani is an UQAAB. This untapped potential of Pakistanis has been harnessed by other nations, including those in the West. Pakistan will be a great nation, if its people understand the powerful message of its founder, Quaid-i-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah based on Unity, Faith, and Discipline. It will take visionary leadership to realize this potential of Pakistanis.

Please contribute your thoughts, ideas, opinions, or articles (you have found interesting), we will present them to our global audience..
